Participation at seminars/conferences/ work shops / courses etc., in foreign
countries
 
This council has provided opportunities for its Blind / Vision Impaired and sighted
persons to represent at the following:
 
  • Low Vision work shop in New Delhi , India – two representatives

  • Pesfic games - one representative

  • ICT work shop in Thailand ( APCD) – two representatives

  • Leadership course in Japan – one representative

  • Dusking work shop in Japan – (DOJF) - two representatives

  • Youth conference in Nepal – one representative
 
Participation at seminars/conferences/ work shops / courses etc., in Sri Lanka
 
This council has provided opportunities for its Blind / Vision Impaired and sighted
persons to represent at the following
 
  • Resource alliance work shop – one representative
  • Resource alliance work shop – one representative
  • Resource alliance work shop – one representative
  • ICT programme conducted by SLCB in collaboration with partner - CCF
    13 participants took part in 3 consecutive work shops in 13 residential schools for
    the blind in 13 Districts      including North and East.
  • Participation of 27 athletes in the national games conducted by the federation of
    sports for disabled.
 
Awards received from Dirijaya 2005 by the following

Tsunami project
 
Sri Lanka Council for the blind launched an assistance programme for the Tsunami
catastrophe affected blind /VI persons in Southern Province in Sri Lanka in collaboration
and funding by the Sight Saver International Sri Lanka
